What kind of plant(s) are phlox?
Phlox can be perennial or annual

Tall or creeping ever so close to the ground

All have great color.

Check out this page to see loads of phlox

We grow and buy in all types at the garden center/Greenhouse I work at, My favorites are the blue gazrden phlox, and the annual 'Intensia phlox'
Reply:There are many varieties of phloxes - but none come as bulbs.

Phloxes are perennial plants. The most common are standard phloxes, which are about 2 - 4 feet tall and come in various bright colors - mostly red-pink-white. There are also creeping phloxes which are often grown in rock gardens. They are only a few inches tall and flower in spring.
Reply:They are ground cover that come back every year. They spread like crazy and will choke out other nearby plants. They have pretty little flowers that come in many colors. They do not climb.
Reply:there are a couple of varieties of phlox that I am familiar with. The old type, which I still have blooming every year were my grandmothers, they are tall and could resemble golden rod at first if not familiar with them, usually mauve or purple some white bunches of flowers Once they bloom they pretty much go all summer long. The other is a more modern phlox, and is more or less a ground cover, they do not grow very tall, but have the same shaped flower on them. I have never heard of a bulb Phlox, that is strange, perhaps they got in the wrong box.
Reply:If you mean what I think you mean, they're creepers. I have a neighbor who has a bunch of it, and they're very effective ground cover.
